ABOUT Joleta Nash

JoLeta Nash is the founder of Tethered to Hope and is a fully endorsed Chaplain to Widows. JoLeta was honored to be the wife of Robert for 23 ½ years before his address changed to Heaven in 2016. At the time, she found it very difficult to find resources to help her on this new road of widowhood – a road where EVERYTHING in life changed in a dramatic way. Little by little, the Lord laid it on her heart to start ministering to other widows on this journey. She wanted to make this challenging time just a little easier for them. She has been involved in active ministry to widows since 2019, and Tethered to Hope was founded in 2024.

JoLeta thrives when ministering to widows and helping others has been a vital part of her own healing. No one understands a widow like another widow, and JoLeta always lends a listening ear. She is able to point other widows to resources she could not find herself. God has given JoLeta the opportunity to meet many individuals who are actively caring for widows in a variety of ways, and she enjoys being able to connect widows with a group in their specific location when possible.

JoLeta also comes alongside churches to help them fulfill the Biblical mandate to care for the widow. This is done either by helping a church start a new group focused on widows or by helping a church enhance any existing ministry the church may have. Widows need each other, but they also need their church families. Having a widow’s ministry within a church is an amazing outreach opportunity. Widows seek out churches with a ministry group just for them. Sometimes churches within a community link arms to provide monthly activities for the widows residing in their town or city, and it’s a special thing to watch.

JoLeta is the proud momma to 2 grown kids: Natalie (and her husband Zach) and Timothy (and his wife Jordan) and the smitten “Nana Jo” to grandgirls, Aurora and Everleigh.

JoLeta is excited to watch the Lord’s plans unfold for Tethered to Hope. She truly believes what Ephesians 3:20 – “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

ABOUT TETHERED TO HOPE

Tethered to Hope was founded in 2024 by JoLeta Nash, who became a widow herself in 2016. Tethered to Hope is a ministry with this mission: "Joining together to securely tether every widow to the Hope found in Jesus". This mission is based on Hebrews 10:23, "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the Hope we profess, for God can be trusted to keep his promise".

Tethered to Hope is pointing widows to meaningful resources, while at the same time calling individuals, churches, and communities to action to care for and value the widows around them.

JoLeta is available to speak to your church, groups within your church, or to your community organization about the ministries of Tethered to Hope. She is also available to speak about grief, losing a spouse, or navigating the holidays after the loss of a loved one. If you host events, we would love the opportunity to share about this ministry with a display table at your next event!
